Wirral Archaeology Geophysics Services
Wirral Archaeology is a small North West archaeological research group. We specialise in geophysical surveying. We have our own Bartington grad 610 magnetometer. In the last year, we have surveyed a castle , hill forts in North Wales, roman roads in Cheshire & Shropshire as well as a possible battle burial site here in Wirral . We are always interested in doing surveys for other groups and organisations for a reasonable fee .
suspected roman road shropshire
We have recently undertaken a project to assist with the tracing
of the Roman road network in Cheshire and Shropshire, which
complements our long-term work on the Roman road system on the Wirral peninsula. Most of the network of main roads is now known, but the system of minor roads needs further investigation.
The Wirral network is more complicated than suspected, so
we are expecting to be engaged on this project for some time.
